New York City is getting ready to expand its mushroom farm, which is set to double in size.
The city has a long history of mushroom production, which has also made it a destination for those interested in buying and cultivating their own.
The city has been able to grow its own mushrooms in part due to the city’s proximity to New York state, a place with many varieties of mushrooms.
The new farm is set up to be the citys largest mushroom farm and will produce more than 3,000 metric tons of mushrooms each year.
The farm will be located in New York, the New York State Department of Agriculture said in a press release.
The farm will employ roughly 1,000 people and produce more varieties of the mushrooms than any other city in the United States.
The farms will be built by a company called Bamboo Farms Inc. The company will have a lease on the site that expires in 2021.
The announcement comes just months after New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said the city is looking at expanding its mushroom industry, but didn’t provide details on when that would happen.
It’s unclear whether the city plans to expand beyond the existing farms.
The new mushroom farm will produce between 3,500 and 4,000 kilograms of mushrooms per year, according to the release.
It will also be located on the east side of the city, close to where the Empire State Building is.
The mushroom farms are expected to help New York become a global leader in mushroom production.
The New York Mushroom Growers Association, which organizes the industry, hopes that the expansion will allow the city to export the growing of the crop to other countries.
