It’s a member of the genus Stomatophyceae and is a type of fungus. 

There are three species of black mushroom – Black, Black-brown and Black-spotted Black. 

The two most common varieties are Stomatonium, also known as the ‘white-spots’, and Stomata, which can be found on a variety of trees and shrubs. 

Black-spotted black mushrooms are the most common type, and are also common in Australia, New Zealand and North America.

How to make a black mushroom: Step 1.

Cut the mushroom into a 1-inch (2cm) diameter piece. 

Step 2.

Cut a hole into the centre of the piece. 

 Step 3.

Cover the mushroom with a piece of aluminium foil, or a piece with paper. 

Place the mushroom in your food processor, and pulse until the mushroom is fully pulverised. 

Next, remove the mushroom from the food processor and place in a bowl with water. 

 Step 4.

Add your spices, parsley, thyme, garlic and salt. 

Repeat until you have a mixture that resembles a black-and-white spider web. 

Tip: To make a ‘white spiderweb’ style, simply put a spoonful of the mixture in a saucepan and simmer it over medium heat until the mixture begins to turn a darker colour. 

Tips: To make a white spiderweb, add a teaspoon of salt to the mixture and stir the mixture. 

If the mixture becomes too watery, add more salt to get it just right.

Bake the black-spored mushroom The black-black mushroom is a bit of a pain to grow because of its rough growing environment. 

To help with this, black mushrooms often require very special growing conditions. 

One such situation is when you grow them outdoors. 

They can be grown in an enclosed garden or in a greenhouse. 

Here’s how you can grow black-based mushrooms:Step 1 .

Start with a pot of water.

Fill it with about half a pint (150ml) of water, which will help to keep the mushrooms submerged. 

Remove the lid from the pot, and add your mushrooms to the pot. 

Cover the pot with a lid.

Step 2 .

Allow your mushrooms in the pot to soak for 15 minutes. 

At this point, you can remove them from the water and let them rest for a further 30 minutes.

Once your mushrooms have soaked, they should be ready to harvest.

Step 3 .

Cut the mushrooms into thin slices, about 1/8 inch (3mm). 

Once they’ve cooled down, you will need to slice them. 

Use a paring knife to cut them into strips. 

Make sure you use sharpened forks or a meat cleaver if possible. 

Using a sharp knife, carefully cut out the strips.

Step 4 .

Place the mushrooms in a colander, cover with a tea towel and allow to soak overnight. 

Once the mushrooms are ready, slice them up. 

Slices should be about 3-inches (6cm) wide. 

Take a small piece of the mushroom, and put it in a food processor. 

(Use a meat slicer if you can’t use a knife. 

A smaller, thinner slice of the mushrooms will allow you to easily cut the remaining slices.) 

The sliced mushrooms should look like this: Tips Tip 1: To get a ‘black spiderweb’, simply put some black powder in a soup pot over medium-high heat, and stir it.
